Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, growing up whenever it was a religious holiday (like today) or just a religious function, a type of halwa will be there. There are many types of halwa, this is my recipe for a low-carb take on this dish.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup Ghee
3/4 cup Almond Flour
1/2 cup Coconut Flour
1/4 cup coconut sugar
354 ml fat-free evaporated milk
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
Heat wok
Add ghee, let melt
Add flour
Stir until golden brown
Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract
Stir until everything is mixed in
Add milk
Keep stirring until thickens
